Makoto™ Intravascular Imaging System
The Makoto™ Intravascular Imaging System is a dual-modality intravascular imaging system that enables the structural and chemical assessment of coronary arteries and plaques by using integrated Extended Bandwidth IVUS imaging and NIRS (near infrared spectroscopy) technologies to identify lipid-core plaques (LCP) of interest.
Makoto™ utilizes proprietary NIRS analysis and 50 MHz Extended Bandwidth rotational IVUS imaging from a single catheter, helping you achieve unparalleled insights for the still uncharted territories and roles that lipid core plaques play in heart disease. The system also features a touch screen control interface, wheels for ease of movement, and a workflow suited for the complex catheterization laboratory environment.
The Makoto™ Intravascular Imaging System is compatible with the Dualpro™ IVUS+NIRS Imaging Catheter Kit (TVC-C195-42).
The Dualpro™ IVUS+NIRS Imaging Catheter Kit is a single-use, disposable coronary catheter and accessory kit designed for use only with the Makoto™ Intravascular Imaging System (TVC-MC10). This dual-modality intravascular imaging catheter combines 50 MHz Extended Bandwidth IVUS transducer and laser-based near infrared spectroscopy (NIRS) for simultaneous acquisition of vessel structure and plaque composition data — a single catheter, a single pullback, with two sets of data — and also features a durable hydrophilic coating for improved deliverability.
Dualpro™ offers clarity, depth and certainty. With standard IVUS, practitioners currently make trade-offs between image clarity and signal penetration. These compromises can make a difference when trying to accurately assess a vessel and interpret the image for optimal treatment. Dualpro™ operates at a frequency bandwidth of 35-65 MHz, offering a single, uncompromised image.
The Extended Bandwidth technology harmonizes multiple signal frequencies. The result is a sharp image of the complete vessel that allows for easy identification of the lumen, plaque, and vessel structure. The composite display provides a clear, easy-to-interpret map for identifying high-risk patients with high-risk plaques.
